Patrick Burchette serves as a Public Policy Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Brickfield, Burchette, Ritts & Stone, P.C. Mr. Burchette advises clients on political strategy, federal legislative and regulatory matters, and issues involving the media and public relations. He is presently involved in advising and assisting clients on issues surrounding carbon legislation, project financing, as well as new and existing Department of Energy funding opportunities.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Burchette served as the Director of Rapid Response for Senator Fred Thompson’s presidential campaign, overseeing the campaign’s response and opposition research operations. In 2004, Mr. Burchette was a member of President George W. Bush’s re-election campaign. He served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Communications Director for the Bush/Cheney ’04 campaign where he played an important role in the campaign’s message development and rapid response operations.
Mr. Burchette also has noteworthy experience on Capitol Hill. In addition to serving on the House Judiciary Committee, for several years he handled military and foreign affairs issues for the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator John Warner of Virginia.
Mr. Burchette received a B.A. in Government from the University of Virginia in 2000. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2007, where he received the CALI award for Negotiation.
