Our Practice

Endangered Species Act

Brickfield, Burchette, Ritts, & Stone, P.C. advocates the interests of clients whose activities are affected by the Endangered Species Act. We represent water and hydropower project owners, contractors who buy water or power from Government-owned projects, and other entities whose rights are implicated by enforcement of the ESA. Our ESA practice includes matters involving consultations with federal agencies under section 7 of the Act, enforcement actions under section 9, habitat conservation plans and incidental take permits under section 10, and other ESA-related proceedings that may affect clients' rights. We also have successfully intervened in several federal court cases brought by environmental organizations.
